JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — Operation: BeYoutiful is set to host a ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ themed gala on October 11th, aiming to raise $75,000 to support women and young ladies experiencing hair loss due to medical conditions.
The funds raised from the gala will be used to provide high-quality wigs and a comprehensive wellness package at no cost to the recipients. This includes gift certificates for wig cleaning, spa treatments, and access to various supportive services such as yoga classes and counseling.
“I am so proud to say that all our relationships are with locally owned businesses and all monies raised stay in our local community,” said Andi Palmar, Executive Director of Operation: BeYoutiful.
The gala, co-chaired by Eileen Graham, is designed to be an evening of inspiration and entertainment, fostering meaningful connections among attendees. The event is part of a broader initiative to support individuals undergoing chemotherapy or other treatments that result in hair loss. Operation:BeYoutiful emphasizes local partnerships, ensuring that the funds raised benefit the community directly. The organization relies on fundraising, grants, and the generosity of local businesses and individuals to provide these services. In addition to wigs, the wellness package includes monthly meetups, meals, house cleaning, essential oils, and other supportive services to enhance the quality of life for recipients.
With the goal of raising $75,000, Operation: BeYoutiful’s upcoming gala promises not only to provide essential support to those in need but also to strengthen community ties through its local partnerships.
